Bombas began in 2013 with the mission of donating socks to homeless people. Socks are the most requested items among the homeless population. So they set out to donate one pair for every pair sold. The socks they make for donating are different from the regular ones – they are dark colored and they are made of material that is anti-microbial. You can imagine how important socks are to people who spend so much time walking!
We have received hundreds of pairs of socks through their giving program.
We are excited to have been chosen to be one of the first organizations to have received Bombas newest line of t-shirts & underwear. We received a shipment of 87 boxes of both mens’ and ladies’ t-shirts & underwear!
This was one of our biggest expenditures. As you may know, we’ve held many, many fundraisers such as “Would you drop your drawers for a good cause?" and "Would you give the shirt off your back?". Up until now, it’s been the commYOUnity supporting these items. You’ve answered the Call to Action and you’ve done it successfully. We can’t thank YOU enough. We want to thank you for investing in us and the lives we serve. The commYOUnity is our heartbeat ❤️. Thanks for being a part of Showering Love’s mission to restore DIGNITY.
Now that we won’t have to spend so much money on these items, it will allow us to focus on other much needed items. We feel so BLESSED. Thank you!!
Special thanks to Bombas! By helping people change their socks, underwear and t-shirts, you’re changing the world and making it a healthier world to live in!!
T-shirts and underwear! Essentials!
We received our first shipment of underwear & T-shirts a few months ago and our guests are SO grateful. We provide these new clothing items with each and every shower. Can you imagine stepping out of a shower and having to put on your same dirty, smelly clothes??!!! Yuck!!
There is dignity in being clean and being offered new clothes - not just clean - but new. It is amazing for a person's self image - and self-esteem
Bombas enable us to give that gift of dignity to each and every one of our unhoused guests!
Happy to get new socks!
For Easter this year, they sent us 18 pallets of Bombas slides – that’s almost 17,000 pairs!! Wow! There’ll be no more walking on eggshells through the grass, rocks, or hot pavement – our guests are so EGGstremely happy!! And they’re not the only ones – we were able to spread the love among a lot of other local non-profits. That’s why they sent us so many. Here is just a partial list: MAHT Broward (Multi-Agency Homeless Taskforce), Riley’s Magical Meals, Community Enhancement Collaboration, Community Court Hollywood, Ruth Ministries, Lighthouse Angels, Childnet, Humble Helping Hearts, Community Servant Leaders, The Hands and Feet, and many others. What a blessing for so many. So, when it's time to think about buying socks for loved ones for the holidays, remember Bombas!! Look them up online at Bombas.com - you'll be glad you did!!
A very Happy Easter for so many!!
