Richard Quadracci

Our CEO, Jeanne Albaugh, met Richard several years ago when he wanted to make a documentary about her life. Richard was a man who was always interested in people - and he knew a great story when he heard it! When he learned about Showering Love, and about Jeanne’s life story, he knew he wanted the world to see it.

He and Jeanne became fast friends and they embarked on several adventures together - the documentary, “Begging for Change” was just the beginning. When Showering Love was to receive a grant from Casey DeSantis, the two of them went to Tallahassee to have dinner with the governor. Before the dinner, Richard pulled out a jewellry box and said it was his mother’s jewelry and he wanted Jeanne to wear it in her honor. What a privilege!

Together they started a housing program for homeless veterans and Richard donated furniture, artwork, everything that was needed - including a car so they could get back and forth to their jobs! That’s the kind of guy Richard was - he had such a huge heart for people. He was a big contributor to many non-profits in the area and Showering Love benefitted greatly. He was always trying in improve human welfare.

Richard was a well-educated man with several degrees - he got his doctorate in mechanical engineering from Columbia - and later established the Quadracci Sustainable Engineering Lab there at Columbia. One of those projects was to increase energy programs in Uganda, Nigeria, and India. His heart for helping people knew no bounds.

He sat on several Executive Boards including the NSU University School where his little boy, Ricky, attended classes. When Richard moved his family to Davie, he got interested in horses and rodeos - he and Ricky spent a lot of time at the Rodeo Arena! And since Jeanne had been a champion horseback rider, she was part of that piece of his life as well.

Dr. Richard Quadracci was a very special man - An engineer, a philanthropist, a father, and a friend. He will be missed by many including all of us here at Showering Love, but especially his dear friend Jeanne Albaugh. Hats off to the ultimate cowboy!
