Driving Innovation: How Our Mobile Shower Buses Restore Hope

Have you ever wondered how one person's dream can profoundly change the lives of thousands? Meet Jeanne Albaugh, founder and CEO of Showering Love. Jeanne personally experienced homelessness and knows firsthand what it feels like to lack access to something as basic yet transformative as a hot shower. Today, she has transformed her experience into a passionate mission, pioneering a revolutionary approach to mobile hygiene services.

"Everyone deserves dignity. Everyone deserves to feel human." These are not just words for Jeanne—they’re her life’s mission. After experiencing homelessness firsthand, Jeanne knew she wanted to make showers accessible to everyone. It became her driving passion to ensure nobody else would have to face the struggle she once did.

From this vision, Showering Love was born, a South Florida nonprofit dedicated to providing mobile showers to people experiencing homelessness. What started as a personal dream is now an innovative, life-changing service.

Innovation on Wheels: The Showering Love Difference

What makes Showering Love truly stand out? Our shower buses are unlike anything else out there. Unlike traditional shower trailers that require hookups to external water and electricity, our buses are fully self-contained. That means they can literally go anywhere—no barriers, no limitations.

This groundbreaking design allows us to reach communities and individuals who are often left behind, providing:

  • Clean, private showers

  • Laundry washing and drying machines

  • Fresh clothing, towels, and hygiene products

  • A safe, compassionate environment

Each guest receives more than a shower—they experience dignity, care, and respect. For many, it's the first step toward reclaiming their self-worth and rebuilding their lives.

On the Front Lines: Responding to Crisis

Our mobile shower buses have proven essential in crisis situations, ensuring we're always ready to respond. In April 2023, when historic flooding devastated Broward County, Showering Love was immediately called upon. Because our buses need no external hookups, we were able to enter the hardest-hit neighborhoods quickly, providing immediate relief and hygiene services when other organizations couldn't.

Thank you, Dave’s Fleet Service!

Providing dignity to our neighbors is a collective effort—made possible every day by generous donors, committed volunteers, and the dedicated Showering Love team. Operating just one shower bus costs approximately $1,350 per day, and we're proudly serving our community 4–6 days a week. These expenses cover everything from water and sanitation supplies to daily operations and essential maintenance. In fact, last year alone, we invested $76,000 in repairs alone to keep our buses reliable and road-ready.

We continue this essential service because every single shower represents renewed dignity, confidence, and hope.

Growing Our Impact

Showering Love has already provided over 70,000 showers in eight years—but there's so much more work to be done. Our vision is expansive: we aim to bring mobile showers across Florida and eventually nationwide. With each new bus on the road, we’re not just expanding a service—we’re multiplying opportunities to transform lives.

Join Us in Making a Difference

None of this innovative work is possible without community support and partnerships. Companies like Bombas have already joined us, donating thousands of essential clothing items. Volunteers continue to offer their time and compassion. Now, we invite you to be part of this incredible journey:

  • Sponsor a Shower Day: Cover the daily $1,350 operating cost, and we'll honor you or a loved one with a special dedication.

  • Donate Hygiene Essentials: Help replenish critical supplies through our Amazon Wishlist.

  • Financial Donations and Volunteering: Every dollar and every hour volunteered propels our mission forward.

  • Host a Bus at Your Event: Amplify your community impact by renting our innovative buses for outreach events.

Together, let's restore dignity, expand hope, and innovate for a better tomorrow.
